Thank you for your interest in speaking at an upcoming chapter meeting! This page provides everything you need to prepare and have a great presentation experience.
Our community represents a broad range of IT, privacy, and information security professionals—and we fully support anyone who steps up to share their knowledge.
We welcome two types of speakers — individuals and sales representatives — each with specific guidance below. Please review these details carefully before presenting.
Each meeting includes up to one hour for the presentation. We host eight presentation meetings per year: January–April and August–November.
Individuals: You don’t need to be an expert, but you should understand your topic thoroughly and aim to educate and engage. Consider problems you've solved with the topic that may be new to most attendees.
Sales representatives: Limit any product or service pitch to the final slide and no more than two minutes. Focus your presentation on the problem, challenges, and alternatives to help attendees learn. End with a contact slide so participants can follow up.
Email chapter@upstatesc-issa.org to be added to the presentation calendar.
Submit your deliverables one month before your talk (see below).
Prepare and rehearse your presentation to fit within 45–60 minutes.
Arrive early to confirm A/V (standard HDMI) and bring a backup copy on a thumb drive.
Enjoy your talk—you’re among friends!
Add your presentation to your LinkedIn profile and connect with attendees.
Please send:
